The Three Be's of Successful Networking


Be aware. Be aware of the clients or customers you already have -- the people that are interested in your brand. From there, strategize how you want your business to grow. This way, you will have the audience you are trying to reach, and be able to figure out how you are going to promote to them.

Be seen. In order to make connections in any setting, you have to be there! Obvious, but true. Many people don't take the time to look up networking events that are targeted to the audience they are trying to reach. It is a fool-proof way of getting yourself seen by your possible customers, and letting them get to know more about you and your brand. You can look up networking events online, or simply ask a friend or colleague!

Be memorable. When you finally get that contact, you want to make sure that he or she remembers you when they get back to their office the next day. This is where promotional products come in handy. Yes, you could give them a boring business card and be like every other person they've met all day. Or, you can give them a packet of gum with your contact info on it -- and really make an impression! Of course, you'll need to make sure that the product makes sense with your brand. Once you do so, it is guaranteed that the customer will appreciate the effort you put into your presentation.
