Happy Thanksgiving!

It's that time again! Is the turkey ready to go? Are the pies baked and set to be devoured by all the empty stomachs coming to dinner tonight?

Thanksgiving is one of the best days out of the year because you're finally able to sit back and appreciate everyone and everything you have in your life. In our fast-paced society, we rarely have time to take a second to breathe and be thankful for what we have.

When you gather around the table this thanksgiving, don't forget to verbally thank those around you that have supported you in any way throughout your life. You may think you don't have to say it out loud, but trust us -- you'll be glad you did.

Happy Thanksgiving!

2016 Presidential Election: Show your support!

The debates have ended, the candidates have campaigned all they can, and now its time for the voters to make a decision. This election has caused a lot of controversy, and has driven many voters away from filling out their ballot on Election Day (tomorrow, November 8th!).

Despite everything that is going on in the Presidential Election, we all need to set aside our differences and acknowledge the importance of every vote in this election.

In addition to casting your vote, why not go a step further and promote the candidate you are in favor of? Water bottles, pens, and mouse pads are just a few promotional products that are a great way to celebrate your party - especially if your candidate wins!

How to Create Brand Awareness with Promotional Products

Companies are constantly wondering how and if promotional products work in regards to consumer behavior. Of course, it is very important for a business to understand this concept before investing any money into this relatively new idea of promoting a brand. Thankfully, Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) conducted a study to figure out exactly how effective promotional products can be in the mind of a consumer.

PPAI's Main Takeaways:

  • Promotional products have a high reach and potential for top-of-mind recall and are an excellent medium to increase and sustain brand awareness.
  • Unaided brand recall is a brand strength indicator as it depends on strength and organization of memories and their accessibility. It is affected by:
    • Interference of other product information
    • Time since last exposure
    • The number and type of external retrieval cues
  • Promotional products can be used to minimize time gaps in exposure occasions and provide external cues to help brand recall. They should be provided on a regular basis, have a clear connection to the brand, and should be relevant to the consumer.

Our Main Takeaways:

  • Promotional products are one of the best ways to make your consumers remember your brand.
  • Promotional products may work, but you need to keep up with your consumers so that they don't forget about you, or get distracted by other companies' products.
  • Don't give up. Keep giving out promotional products, and make sure that they relate to your company/brand, and that the product is something the consumer will actually use! For example,  with summer right around the corner; hats, sunglasses, beach towels, beach chairs, etc!

Interviewing 101: Tips to Succeed

It's that time of the year again when many young people are getting ready to graduate. With that said, it's also the season of endless interviews to find that first full-time job out of college. If you are one of those young people, or someone else interviewing to take a new step in his or her career, here are some interviewing tips for you.

1. Print out multiple copies of your resume.

Do not assume that the person interviewing you will already have a hard copy of your resume. Even though you most likely applied electronically and they have your resume in a file somewhere, does not mean that you should assume that they will print one out for the interview.

2. Bring your OWN pen.

Do not go into an interview without your own writing utensil, preferably a pen. It looks unprofessional to ask the interviewer to lend you a pen -- not to mention that it makes you look unprepared.

3. Bring a notepad.

This goes along with the previous tip, and is equally important. Throughout the interview, when the interviewer is giving you information about the company or the open position, you should be writing down simple notes not only for yourself after the interview is over, but also to show the interviewer that you value what they are saying.

3. Ask important questions; don't waste their time.

Make sure that the questions you ask at the end of the interview are substantial, and not simple topics to take up time.

Follow these tips and you will certainly be one step ahead of everyone else! Good luck!
