How to Create Brand Awareness with Promotional Products

Companies are constantly wondering how and if promotional products work in regards to consumer behavior. Of course, it is very important for a business to understand this concept before investing any money into this relatively new idea of promoting a brand. Thankfully, Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) conducted a study to figure out exactly how effective promotional products can be in the mind of a consumer.

PPAI's Main Takeaways:

  • Promotional products have a high reach and potential for top-of-mind recall and are an excellent medium to increase and sustain brand awareness.
  • Unaided brand recall is a brand strength indicator as it depends on strength and organization of memories and their accessibility. It is affected by:
    • Interference of other product information
    • Time since last exposure
    • The number and type of external retrieval cues
  • Promotional products can be used to minimize time gaps in exposure occasions and provide external cues to help brand recall. They should be provided on a regular basis, have a clear connection to the brand, and should be relevant to the consumer.

Our Main Takeaways:

  • Promotional products are one of the best ways to make your consumers remember your brand.
  • Promotional products may work, but you need to keep up with your consumers so that they don't forget about you, or get distracted by other companies' products.
  • Don't give up. Keep giving out promotional products, and make sure that they relate to your company/brand, and that the product is something the consumer will actually use! For example,  with summer right around the corner; hats, sunglasses, beach towels, beach chairs, etc!

Interviewing 101: Tips to Succeed

It's that time of the year again when many young people are getting ready to graduate. With that said, it's also the season of endless interviews to find that first full-time job out of college. If you are one of those young people, or someone else interviewing to take a new step in his or her career, here are some interviewing tips for you.

1. Print out multiple copies of your resume.

Do not assume that the person interviewing you will already have a hard copy of your resume. Even though you most likely applied electronically and they have your resume in a file somewhere, does not mean that you should assume that they will print one out for the interview.

2. Bring your OWN pen.

Do not go into an interview without your own writing utensil, preferably a pen. It looks unprofessional to ask the interviewer to lend you a pen -- not to mention that it makes you look unprepared.

3. Bring a notepad.

This goes along with the previous tip, and is equally important. Throughout the interview, when the interviewer is giving you information about the company or the open position, you should be writing down simple notes not only for yourself after the interview is over, but also to show the interviewer that you value what they are saying.

3. Ask important questions; don't waste their time.

Make sure that the questions you ask at the end of the interview are substantial, and not simple topics to take up time.

Follow these tips and you will certainly be one step ahead of everyone else! Good luck!

St. Patty's Day 2k16: Fun Facts!

From dawn to dusk on March 17th, every major city sees a flood of green pour into their streets. People take the day off of work, get in their best green attire, and head out to as many bars as humanly possible.

We asked some questions about this beloved holiday, and found some interesting answers!

First...why green?

Green is most commonly associated with the shamrock and the Irish flag, which many of us could have already guessed as the answer to this question. However, many people are not aware that green is also the color of St. Patrick's Day because of Ireland's nickname, "The Emerald Isle."

Second...who started the "Green Beer" fad?

Green beer was first served in the Bronx borough of New York in 1914. So, for all those young people who assume this is a new fad that has just started, think again! did St Patrick's Day originate?

It was originally a Catholic holiday to celebrate Ireland's patron saint, Saint Patrick, who spread Christianity. However, what many people don't know is that Saint Patrick was not actually Irish!

After a short and semi-painless winter, spring is on it's way! This morning, groundhog Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow, which means ... drumroll please ... AN EARLY SPRING! This prediction was independently verified by groundhogs Shubenacadie Sam (Canada), Staten Island Chuck (NY), and General Beau Lee (GA)!

So it is certainly safe to say that winter is coming to an end, and we can soon take out our folding chairs and sunglasses to sit back and enjoy the long awaited spring weather! Goodbye to hats and scarves and hello to t-shirts and shorts!
