Who needs sleep?

Who needs sleep? You do. Sleep is one of the most important things we do on a daily basis. The average person needs about 7 hours of sleep a night and on average most Americans get close to 5 or 6 hours instead. Sometimes it's hard to shut your brain off at night and stop thinking about everything you have to do tomorrow or next week or even next month; but there are some easy steps you can take to help improve your slumber. There are activities you can do during the day and steps you can take at night to help ease your worries and keep you from counting sheep or tossing and turning.

Most likely during the week you have a habitual schedule that includes getting up, going to work, any extracurricular activities, coming home making dinner and going to bed. It is important to throw exercise into the mix because regular exercise will improve your sleep patterns believe it or not. Exercise helps improve anxiety and your mood and will make you tired come bedtime. Join an exercise class, walk your dog or hit the track or pavement with a pedometer and keep track of your progress.

Other things to avoid include smoking, caffeine, alcohol and food a few hours before bed. All of these things can act as stimulants and can keep you lying awake for hours. Some people are effected by what is known as acid reflux caused by certain foods and caffeine which can cause discomfort especially while laying down.

Staying fit and healthy and avoid stimulants will help get you a good night sleep if you are still having trouble dozing try these things:

*Listen to soothing sounds or music with a sound machine or with headphones.
*Wear a sleep mask or earlplugs to block out light and sound.
*Sleep in a cool, dry, dark room.

4AllPromos has many items to help the restless traveler or the sleeping impaired. Consider custom imprinted sleep related items for your patients or customer's. They will appreciate the thought!

Best Ways to Fight Stress

No matter who you are or what you do for a living you probably have some kind of stress in your life. In fact, stress is referred to as one of the leading health problems among Americans. It's important to know the proper ways to deal with stress because if you do not deal with stress properly it can cause a variety of physical and mental health issues. Stress can contribute to high blood pressure and blood sugar, compromised immunity, substance abuse issues, anger control problems, criminal behavior and social isolation.

Here are 10 easy ways to help fight the stress in your life:

1. Listen to music- Put on your favorite tunes and maybe even dance for a few minutes.

2. Phone a friend- Call a reliable friend who you know will offer good feedback and maybe even make you laugh about everything.

3. Eat Right- Make yourself a healthy snack like vegetables and dip, cheese and crackers or a fruity smoothie. You feel better because your are doing something good for yourself.

4. Get sleep- Take a power nap, or maybe go to bed an hour early. People who are well rested can think clearer and make better decisions.

5. Laugh- Watch your favorite movie or sitcom or browse YouTube for funny clips that have gone viral.

6. Drink tea- Make some soothing tea such as Chai or Chamomile and curl up on the couch or on a window seat and take some time for yourself.

7. Exercise- Even if you do something active for just 10 minutes it will get your blood pumping, your brain thinking and your endorphin's flowing. Exercise is a powerful way to fight stress and help both your mental and physical state.

8. Breathe- Sometimes we forget to breathe. Try a yoga routine that focuses on breathing. You can buy meditation and yoga DVDs that will help you focus on breathing and relaxing. Sometimes all we need is someone to help us focus on the little things in life that can make such a big difference.

9. Write about it- Start a journal, hop on the computer or even grab some scrap paper and just pour your emotions onto paper and out of your mind.

10. Play with your pet- Animals are shown to improve mood and lower blood pressure. Play fetch with your dog or simply pet your cat. Maybe even tell them your problems or worries because they will most certainly listen.

Here at 4AllPromos we care about the health and well-being of our customer's and that is why we have a variety of items that will help you relax and unwind. Hook your customer's up with some stress balls (in any shape you can imagine), an MP3 player, a sleep mask, a wacky and fun product, some pajama pants, chocolate, a journal or something else to help them keep their lives stress free and organized.

Where do you find new products?

Are you a bargain hunter? Do you keep up with commercials, print ads, e-mail and social media to find your next deal or big purchase (or maybe promotional products)? According to ATG most shoppers search for new products or specific products on search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. A much smaller percentage of people find deals on social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter most likely because it requires a bit more attention.

However, if you are looking to make the biggest direct impact on consumers it appears e-mail campaigns are the most effective method other than search engines. Think about it, most adults  have smart phones that directly sync up with their e-mail accounts. Products like Constant Contact allow businesses to time their newsletters, coupons or specials whenever they want to distribute them to customers. How many times a day do you check your e-mail? I check at least on an hourly basis or every time I look at my phone. E-mail is the best way to let customers know what is new, what is special and what kind of money they can save by choosing your business. If they don't like it they simple delete it or unsubscribe to the updates.

Rounding third base is good old world of mouth. It's always good to get recommendations from friends and family that you know you can trust. It's also a good idea to check out Facebook, Twitter and blogs to get some word of mouth recommendations. People often post photos or links to stuff they like and now more and more businesses are allowing them to do so directly from their websites rather than having to log on separately to Facebook or Twitter.

So, the next time you are considering launching a promotion, putting on a sale or spreading the word about a new product take a look at this graphic to remind you of the most beneficial methods of advertising. It might saves you time and money!
