Sweatshirts and Sports Teams

Before the beginning of each sport season, it is not uncommon to hear excited chatter between students throughout the halls of a high school about the latest styles in warm-ups and sweatshirts. For years, high schoolers have been ordering custom warm-ups for their respective sports teams, but why would high school teams need matching sweatshirts and sweatpants? Well, in fact, having your sports team buy warm-ups makes a bigger impact on a team than most might think. Successful teams have three things in common. One, the team has talent. Two, the team is lead by a good coach. And three, there is a lot of team unity and school spirit amongst the players. You cannot have one without the other if the team wants to reach its highest potential. Number three is where we come in. Uniform warm-ups are infallible at creating a sense of unity among the players. And not only do the warm-ups have an effect on the team itself, but they also show everyone else that this team is serious about the sport they play and sparks a bit of intimidation in their opponents. These simple articles of clothing can go a long way for high school sports teams. More recently, the idea of purchasing custom imprinted sports bags, t-shirts, and sports bottles for teams has taken off. All these items contribute to building a sense of unity and spirit within the team, and it makes becoming successful that much easier to achieve.

Summer is here! Protect your lips.

Through out the summer, we all take many trips to the beach, the pool and other outdoor places. The constant exposure to the sun might feel good, but can be damaging to your skin, especially your lips. Lip balm will protect the sensitive skin on your lips by keeping them moist, instead of the sun drying them out. Lip balm not only protects, but it promotes as well! Along with many other promotional products, lip balm can be a great way to get your company's name out there in the summer months. You can choose to "go green" with some all natural lip balm, or maybe add some flavor with some fruity lip balm. There are also colorful lip balms and sparkle lip balms for the children. Other summer items you might look into for promotions are beach chairs, beach towels and sunglasses, all of which can be custom imprinted.

What happened to the Duffel Bag...?

Keeping up with the latest fashion trend is never an easy undertaking, but our economy these days is making such a time-consuming and expensive task that much harder. I guess it would only make sense that the duffel bag business is not doing as well as it used to considering it is now battling up against lighter, cheaper, more stylish bags such as the draw-string backpack and tote bags. But, many people have forgotten or are unaware of the services that duffel bag can offer that other smaller, less durable bags would not be able to do. First, duffel bags are the perfect item for athletes and travelers that want to get the most for their buck. Space is always an issue for these people, which makes draw-string backpacks and tote bags an impractical choice. Second, most people assume that the duffel bag has to be over sized, bulky and dull, but in fact, these bags come in all sorts of different sizes, colors, materials and styles. The choices are limitless and finding one to suit exactly your need can be very simple with the help of our employees. And third, duffel bags will protect your belongings much more effectively because of their protective zippers. Some even come with the option of a lock on the bag to ensure no one has access to your things except you. Sure, a small tote bag can look absolutely adorable, but is it really worth increasing the risk of losing your items, especially when you could look just as stylish using as secure duffel bag? The choice is yours, but do not overlook the more practical aspects of the duffel bag because it definitely has the capability to save you more money in the long run.

Fundraising and Promotional Products

Now is the time schools are beginning to think about their fundraising programs for the Fall Season. The most common fundraisers such as selling gift wrap paper, cheesecakes, cookie dough, chocolates have all been done too many times before and the folks purchasing them feel obligated to buy something - so they do. What do you think will happen if you were to offer a totally new fundraising product to the same person that felt obligated to buy a roll of gift wrap paper. They will most likely purchase more of the newer more interesting product. Products such as reusable grocery bags or a gym bag or even a first aid kit. These are all products that will create a whole lot more excitement than the same old thing. In addition, the same person who bought a roll pf gift wrap last year will probably be willing to spend more money buying something new this year. Take a moment to consider being an innovative fundraiser next year with the goal of increasing the overall dollars raised - which would be quite an accomplishment in this tough economy.

Be Sure To Keep Your Best Customers

There are several factors that will determine how successful you are in keeping your best customers.
  • Staying competitive in the marketplace will always rank as one of the most important factors. This includes being price competitive as well as maintaing an up to date product and/or service offering.
  • Providing the Best Customer Service. Price will get you a customer and too high a price may lose a customer but bad customer service is the most certain way to lose customers quickly and for good!
  • On-Going Customer Communication. Many businesses have customers who purchase once or twice a year and have little reason to contact you in-between these purchases. Given the competitive landscape for almost every Industry you have to find a way to communicate with your customers even when they may not be in the market to place an order for several months. If you don't do it you can be certain your competitors are. The trick is not to annoy your customer in the process of trying to make yourself easily available for when they do need you. A non-aggressive e-mail campaign or a thank-you gift or a reminder notice are forms of communication that will not annoy but rather be appreciated.

There are several ways you can achieve these goals through a promotional product that would be received as a genuine thank-you and not another tacky marketing campaign. For example, sending your customer a reusable grocery bag with your company information custom imprinted on the bag with a "Eco-Friendly" message is a great way to to remind your customer that you are available and that you care about the environment.

Most customers will welcome a gift that comes in the mail far more than a disruptive phone call or even e-mail. Especially if the objective is to see if they want to place another order. Including a nice promotional product along with a reminder about ordering again will be much more positively received than a phone call asking if it's time to re-order. The gift will not interrupt their day where a phone call definitely will. Some nice gifts are imprinted pens, travel mugs, flashlights, bag clips, key chains, lip balm or even suntan lotion. These would include your company information and every time they used one of these items they will be reminded of your generous gift. This will certainly dramatically increase your chances of getting the next order.

Tming Is Everything

The old saying "Timing Is Everything" is an important selling concept for every salesperson. The convenient pocket size custom imprinted antibacterial sprays make for a strong giveaway item given the recent scare with the new Swine Flu outbreak. Any salesperson that will be exhibiting at a trade show in the near future and needs a tradeshow giveaway will look especially smart if they are handing out antibacterial sprays with thier Company information imprinted along the side. Be sure to use current events to help drive your sales pitch for the day!

Cold Calling - How to Break The Ice !

You pick up the phone at work and a stranger tries to sell you a new product or service - your initial reaction is to hang up the phone quickly. This has happened to all of us. How do you think the salesperson feels after dozens of calls ending without even getting his sales pitch out. Here is a suggestion that may help lessen the pain both for the salesperson and the prospective customer. Before you make the cold call - send the customer a personalized gift that will stop them in their tracks. Years ago I received a hand-held telescope ahead of a salesperson's phone call that caught my attention so much I actually took the call and heard the entire sales pitch. The follow-up call resulted in a face to face meeting. This would not have happened if I didn't receive the well-timed show stopper ahead of the call. The best attention getting gifts are those that are relevant to your sales pitch, unique enough to get you to stop what you are doing and of course at a cost that is commensurate with the overall sales opportunities. Here are some examples to consider, a sticky note pad that is in a special shape that helps to promote your product, or maybe a foam finger or a foam hat in a very unique shape that will get someones attention, or even a Mag-Lite flashlight and pocket knife in a pre-assembled case. There are hundreds of promotional product ideas that you can do to help break the ice before you make that first call. The challenge is to spend some time beforehand to identify the most cost effective item that will stop your customer in their track.

Make A Statement

Anyone in business has had to give out their business card on many different occasions. Some times we feel obligated to hand them out even if we know it's not necessary. However, how about the times you desperately want to make a good impression on a new or prospective customer and wish you could make a perfect impression so they remember you when it comes time to decide if you will get the business. It's in these situations that a mere paper business card simply will not do. How about a Chocolate Business Card that allows you to leave behind a special treat or maybe Mint Business Cards that have your custom imprint on the outer case of a thin business card mint dispenser. Your business card is now part of the mint dispenser. Guaranteed to be remembered and used for a very long time. There are many other promotional products that can create the same impact without appearing to aggressive. Think about Antibacterial Pocket Sprayers, BIC Clic Pens, Sticky Note Pads or Highlighters. These are all relatively inexpensive ways to leave a lasting impression with items that we all have a need to use on a daily basis.

Make Your People Part of the Sales Force - Use Them! All of the people you have working in your organization are great sales people for your product. You should always make sure to send them and even their families out into the world proudly displaying the logo of the company they work for. Consider your logo to be a conversation starter with a potential new customer at any time. The possibilities are endless through the use of promotional products. Apparel is a great choice. Business casual embroidered dress shirts are a good choice for the office. How about an embroidered sport shirt or screen printed tee shirt as we approach the summer months? Who doesn't wear a baseball cap and what a great, classy touch to embroider your logo on it. Recycled tote bags are very popular, think of the exposure when it's carried through a store, to a picnic or other gathering of people . Umbrellas are another great choice with the large imprint areas available. Water bottles are everywhere, wouldn't your logo look great on one!
